Frozen, the newest animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios, is very much like the films they made 20 years ago when I was a kid. Frozen features many songs throughout the movie that will become memorable just like I Just Can’t Wait to be King and Under the Sea. It also features a couple of princes and princesses as well as a big Disney theme, true love. It, like many Disney animated films, is based on a fairy tale. This one being based off of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.

Frozen tells the story of Princess Anna. Elsa is her big sister and has the ability/is cursed to make snow and ice. Three years after their parents death, Elsa has her coronation and people from all over come to see it. When her ability is made public, she runs away to the North Mountain. Princess Anna then goes on a journey to find Elsa and bring her back home. Along the way she makes some new friends.

The film looks amazing! You can compare it to what Pixar does. When people are moving around in the snow and you don’t see any faces everything looks real. Skin is the only thing that they didn’t master to look real. The songs are great and are catchy and I was singing them walking out of the theater. The script is funny, I was laughing throughout the film. The writers also did a good job of not making a princess story completely predictable.

Thor: The Dark World is a great sequel. Since Thor and Asgard have been established in Thor and The Avengers, this movie gets going straight away. The film is about a Dark Elf called Malekith who wants to destroy the universe when the nine realms. He failed eons ago when Odin’s father defeated his armies and he escapes. He returns unintentionally by Jane Foster and wants to destroy the worlds once again.

This film is better then the first Thor film. There is better action, it is funnier, and has a much better and complex story. Loki continues to be one of the best characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The effects team did an awesome job of making Asgard look like a real place. I don’t want to say much more because I don’t want to give anything away.
