Prometheus is the prequel new movie based in the same cinematic universe as Alien and takes place 30 years before the events on the Nostromo in Alien. The reason it isn’t a direct prequel is because the story about the Space Jockey race and not the aliens. The movie starts when two archeologist find the same drawings from multiple ancient civilizations and figure out that that is where live on earth came from. The Weyland Corporation funds the archeologist and gives them a space ship to travel to this world to find these “engineers”, but they have another secret plan going on.

The movie has the same feel as the first Alien movie. It has the suspense and scares like that movie. The only think about both movies I don’t like is that the beginnings are slow. Once they get going, they are awesome!

Michael Fassbender does a great job playing the android. Noomi Rapace is a strong female protagonist and her character Elizabeth Show can grow to be as strong as Ellen Ripley if 20th Century Fox lets them tell more of her story.

I went into the theater to see Brave with only knowing that it was made by Pixar and the main character is a Scottish princess who wants to change her fate. That is all you really need to know other than it is awesome.

Merida is the princess of one of the four clans and finds out that the first born from the other three clans are going to compete for her hand in marriage. She doesn’t want to marry anyone and that is why she wants to change her fate. Merida joins the competition and says that the first born of her clan can compete for her own hand. Afterward, she has a fight with her mom and rides off into the woods where she meets a witch. And that is never a good thing.

The animation of this movie is brilliant. It looks like a camera is filming real environments. The only thing that looks animated is the people, but that has always been the hard part of computer animation.

The film is very funny. There was one scene in the castle that I was laughing so hard I almost cried. It is also inspiring, showing that you can accomplish anything.

Men in Black III

Men in Black III is the first of the series that involves time travel. In the movie, Agent K is killed in the past by an alien that he put away in 1969. In the present, Boris the Animal escapes from prison and travels back in time and kills K. Only Agent J remembers what really happened, and time jumps back to save his partner.

Josh Brolin plays young Agent K and plays him exactly like Tommy Lee Jones. It was a brilliant performance. Will Smith has the same chemistry and interaction with both Agent K’s which makes it more believable.

The movie series continues to be funny after a ten year break. Everyone in the theater was laughing the whole time. Before seeing the new film, I did a marathon of the first two, and I laughed the same for every movie in the series.

One thing that I liked was that they used “real” aliens and didn’t CGI everything in a time when pretty much everything is CGI.

There was only one thing I didn’t like in the story. It is only a small thing and I understand why they did it. They could have done something a lot less cheesy. Overall, it is a good movie that you will laugh throughout and enjoy greatly.
